Look Who's Walking

Madelyn is so funny. She is crazy and non-stop and so adorable and has been a little walking animal lately.

Summer Fun

Love this little baby

Here in Rock Springs they have so many great things for the kids in summer. Braelyn went to a Princess camp, Dal went to an Inventors Camp, and this week they are both going to a Backyard games camp. There are also a lot of fun parks here and several that have free pools. This is one of them and the kids had a blast.

There was a fun slide too

It was great because a lot of the water was shallow enough that Madelyn could sit and play and she had a great time.

Madelyn loved splashing in the water
We had a quick weekend trip to Utah for a little Hilton Family Reunion so that we could see Conrad & Jamie before they headed off to Detroit for his ER Residency. We played some fun games, ate some good food, played some good tennis and just had some quality fun. I beat Collin twice in tennis so that was the highlight of my trip :)

The kids had a great time playing with cousins

They all slept out in a tent with Grandma and Grandpa and they thought that was pretty cool and super fun!

Every couple weeks here they have a themed Family 5K run/walk. This week was a "Zombie" run so B-Rae and I did our best to look the part :)

When Dal saw us he was seriously so scared of us and he ran away. He was not excited to go run with a bunch of Zombies. But it actually turned out okay and we all had a lot of fun!
We have discovered that our kids love Dikies, including Madelyn. Look at that smile on her face. She's been eating some good food.

Provo, Gabby, Bean Museum

While we were in Utah for my half-marathon we had some fun playing with Gabby. We ate at a yummy Indian restaurant, went to the BYU creamery, & visited the Bean museum.

My First Half-Marathon Experience

Waiting at the top of American Fork Canyon for the race to begin at 6:00 am. It was pretty chilly up there but very beautiful!

Miranda, her friend Kim and I ran the whole time together and it was really fun to have great people to run with and talk with the whole time. The first 8 miles or so seemed to fly by because it was through the canyon and was so pretty and the weather was perfect. The last few miles felt a little tougher and by the last mile or so I was ready to cross that finish line and get my big awesome medal :)

At the finish line they had water bottles, wet towels, Kneaders french toast and fruit, popsicles and they handed out our medals. It was my first half-marathon and it felt like a great accomplishment.
Miranda is my good friend that I work with and do Activity Days with so we had a lot of fun running together to train and prepare for the race.

I just love my medal :)

This race is really cool because 100% of the entry fee goes to helping cancer patients in Utah County. There are a lot of great sponsors for it so there is no overhead cost. This year they raised more than $250,000 for cancer patients. I think there were 2,600 people that ran the half-marathon and another 2,400 or so that ran the 5K. It was just a really cool atmosphere to see so many people there running for cancer patients. Some were cancer survivors and some were running for family members who currently have cancer or had cancer. It was just an all-around cool race.

This was my bib and the shirt I got for running.

I haven't decided if I want to run another half-marathon. Miranda is convinced I will want to do another soon and that I will decide that I want to keep getting super cool medals :) I guess we'll see. If not another half-marathon I think a 10K is a great distance and 5K's too.
