Christmas, Dal's 7th B-day, Happy 2013

We got a couple free Christmas cards through cardstore.com. Wish we could have sent one out to everybody but here it is- Merry Christmas :)

I realized that I took hardly any pics of Christmas. I videoed but no pics. Here is our tree, stockings and Santa presents all ready to go on Christmas Eve. We spent Christmas Eve with my cousins the Hills and it was so wonderful. Being with their family is always a great time. We also got to see Conrad & Jamie and their fam earlier that day which was really fun.

The stockings. My parents and Chase spent Christmas with us which was really fun. We had quite the random assortment of stockings/santa hat but at least everyone had one :)

We got a lot of snow on Christmas eve and a couple of days after we got snow here and there so we had some fun playing in the snow and building a little snow fort.

And throwing snow balls of course

Dal is really into Legos right now so he got  some fun lego sets for Christmas. We have spent a lot of time building lego things over the past few days. It has been such a nice break from studying!

Braelyn also wanted me to take a picture of some of her toys. She loves princesses and ponies right now, along with Mario & Luigi and some of that crew. She also still adores babies, dolls and real ones.

Happy 7th Birthday Dal! I can't believe that he is already 7! He is growing up so fast. He is such a thinker and a builder. It's so fun to see how his mind works. For his birthday we got some Papa Murphy's pizza and had root beer floats.  And yes it does take a little talent to get a candle to stay put in a root beer float for long enough to sing the birthday song :)

Dal was really happy to have Uncle Chase there

Legos and Avengers is a great combination for Dal. Two things he loves.

B-Rae being a little silly in her Christmas dress. She is such a funny girl these days. She comes up with the silliest things to make us all laugh.
She wanted me to take a picture of her laying down on the floor like this, so I did, and I kind of liked it :)

More lego building fun

This past week has been my one week off of school for the year and I have enjoyed it so much. It was a much needed break and I have had so much fun relaxing and playing with my family. Next Wednesday I will have to hit the ground running again until the end of July but until then I get to be free from the constant task master that this program has been. We feel so blessed to here in Utah (where we have had so much fun playing with family) and so blessed to be in this dosimetry program and doing clinicals at the Huntsman, and so blessed that Dal loves 1st grade, and so blessed that Braelyn loves life and so blessed to have the gospel. 2012 was a year of learning and growing for us and we look forward to 2013 and all the challenges and blessings that it will bring.
Happy New Year!

Happy 4th B-day my baby Braelyn (and my baby brother Chase!)

I can't believe my sweet little Braelyn Rachel is already 4!She is such a little sweetie and a joy and we are so grateful that she is part of our family. It has been a wonderful four years!

Yesterday (Dec 1st- her b-day) we had a little party for her and we celebrated Chase's b-day too which is on Dec 4th.

Braelyn wanted this pink jello stacked cake thing (on the jello package it showed a big mound of pink jello so I think she chose it because it was pink :) and for Chase we made mounds bars (which are so delicious)!

Besides the fun desserts we also had some super yummy food that Jake made, including pork flautas, homemade bean dip, homemade guacamole, "stuff "(which is a combo of cream cheese and green salsa), cheese dip, etc. I was his kitchen assistant so I helped with whatever he needed me to, but let's be honest, when it comes to delicious food coming out of our kitchen it is thanks to Jake :) We also played a fun game of Mormon MadGab, and interestingly enough the boys and girls tied.

Braelyn loved opening presents and Dal and Landon were pretty excited about it too

Thanks to Chase Braelyn's lovely pink baby magically produced triplet tiny babies. Braelyn thought that was pretty cool. She took them all to bed with her last night :)

This is a little video clip of the awesome people (our family/friends that we love to hang out with) that came to Braelyn's party, and her opening a present...

Lagoon, Halloween, Party

The Young Women invited the leaders kids to come and make Haunted Houses with them and this was Dal's creation. The kids had a great time making them and also loved eating candy out of the decorating candy bowls :)

My sweet sis-in-law Gabby had some free Lagoon tickets and she was nice enough to invite us to go to Lagoon with her. We went non-stop all day and into the evening and we all had a total blast! The kids had amazing endurance for so many hours of fun- they loved it there so much!

Dal and I were on this ride and yes, we are upside down in the picture and no, Dal did not enjoy that ride Maybe next time :)

For Halloween we went with Collin & Tiffany to their close outdoor mall area to trick-or-treat and get taste testers and coupons and then we went back to their house and trick-or-treated with them around their neighborhood. The kids had a blast running from house to house. We only went down 1 1/2 streets and the kids got a ton of candy--it was crazy!

As you can see, Braelyn was a princess, Landon & McKayla were adorable little superheroes (in cute outfits that the talented Tiffy made) and Dal was a Knight/Ninja

Collin & Tiff had a McKayla birthday/basement warming party at their house and it was so fun! We had burgers and cake and ice cream (here the little cousins are enjoying their cupcakes) and then we played Just Dance on the Wii which was so funny and so fun. Chase pretty much dominated but I gave him a run for his money :)

Here is the adorable little birthday girl enjoying her cupcake

October has already been a full month & we haven't even made it to Halloween yet! Here's a few pics of some of the things we've been up to lately.

We went for a hike up Big Cottonwood Canyon. The leaves were very colorful & it was nice to get up in the mountains!

Conference weekend we again made a short trip up to the mountains. This time we hiked to Bridal Veil Falls w/Gabby. We loved it!! Beautiful scenery & great company!

Next group of pictures is from Gardner's Village where they put together a little witch fun! Braelyn had fun with some cousins!

The only two brave enough to get close to this witch! :)
Right before we left, Braelyn finally found her favorite, a pink witch!

 Getting ready for a picture

A cute new dress to feel like a red princess (every dress is a princess dress to B-rae. ... In fact, most skirts are princess dresses too!)

Last but not least, Braelyn trying to figure out how to take a picture of herself  :)
