Baby #3, Dal Serving us Breakfast in Bed

So I know this is old news but I wanted to post these ultrasound pics on here for memory's sake and while we still know where they are :) So here is our adorable baby #3 at my 12 week appointment. (I am 17 1/2 weeks now). I was in awe at this little life inside of me. It's amazing that being so small and so early on in the pregnancy how it looks so much like a baby already and has a fast little heart beat and can move all around.   This little cutie kept wiggling all over while the Dr was trying to measure it's heart beat. It was so cool to see it moving all over. I couldn't feel it move so it was fun to see it. I have started to feel the baby move here and there, but nothing consistent. I am excited for when I will be able to feel the baby move more. I love that feeling. That feeling of life inside of you. It's something so incredible and something so hard to describe. It's one of the reasons I love being pregnant.

I know a lot of people were surprised that we are having another baby, some probably wonder why now when our life is so crazy, some probably think we are crazy, some probably wonder how we are going to do it with Jake's sickness and me having to work full-time...we have wondered the same thing at times. We actually didn't think we were going to have any more kids. We were content with the two that we had and with our situation we didn't think it was part of our life plan to have another one. But then it was crazy because out of the blue Jake and I both started thinking about another baby. We started wondering if we were supposed to have another one. Now these are thoughts that have not crossed our minds for four years. We started asking ourselves all of those questions, we prayed about it, we went to the temple and we felt like we were supposed to have another one. We weren't sure when we were supposed to or how it was all going to work. But we let Heavenly Father know that we were willing to do His will and that we could do it with his help. About three weeks later I found out I was pregnant :) We were so excited! We realized that for us there will be no convenient time to have a baby and actually this is perfect timing. I am due about a week after I graduate from Medical Dosimetry school and will be home with the baby while I am sending out resumes and applications and job searching. I will enjoy every moment that I have with that sweet baby before I start working full-time and then will come some heart-ache for me and probably more pain for Jake as he stays home and takes care of a new baby along with our other kids. He is such a good daddy though...they are such lucky kids. We know that this is what this life is about anyway. It is meant to be hard. We are here to struggle, rely on the Lord, and do the best we can to teach our children, help others and live so that can be worthy to return home to our Father, with our children, and as many others as we can help along the way to also return home.

I have been so blessed this pregnancy with energy, endurance and hardly any sickness to help me get through my long days of clinic, class, homework, and being a wife and mother. I know that Heavenly Father has blessed me immensely and I am so grateful. It feels good to know that we are doing what He wants us to do and He will be there with us every step of the way.

Both Dal and Braelyn are so excited that we are having a baby. They are at such great ages and I am so excited for them to get to be big brother and big sister. Braelyn wants a girl so that she can put bows in her hair and I think Dal is fine either way. (We find out in a couple of weeks!)  They will be so wonderful with this baby. It's going to be really fun for all of us :)

This post has already been quite lengthy but I have to share a story about Dal that I don't want to forget. A couple weeks ago we blew up the air mattress in the living room for the kids to have a slumber party on it and the next morning we were all laying on it together. Dal decided that he wanted to make us all breakfast in bed. He was so sweet and thoughtful. He asked us all what we wanted and then did his best at making it. Braelyn and I wanted bananas and toast. My toast was cute because it was  a barely toasted piece of bread with chunks of butter here and there. Jake asked for a graham cracker with peanut butter on it. He told Jake that he would make it so that Jake had finger room to hold and wouldn't get peanut butter on his fingers. He brought it over to Jake and it was so funny because there was a little streak of peanut butter barely discernible on the middle of the cracker and no where else. Jake had plenty of finger room :) Then Dal decided he would make himself a pickle sandwich for breakfast. He got a piece of bread and the baby dill pickles and stacked three whole baby dills on one piece of bread and folded it over the pickles. Jake and I were trying to stifle our laughter while we were watching him. Dal took a couple of bites of his sandwich and decided that he didn't really like pickle sandwiches anymore :) He was so sweet and it was fun to see him do his best to serve us and show us his love.

I love this post!! I love the strength and faith that you have as you face another "unknown" in your life. You and Jake will be incredible parents to this new little one; we are so excited to meet him/her! You are right, life IS meant to be hard, but your positive outlook and faith is inspiring!
