So yesterday we celebrated our 7th anniversary. Crazy! In the 7 years that we've been married we have lived in 6 different cities across 3 different states and one or both of us have been in school the entire time! So needless to say life has been kind of a crazy adventure for us. I'm glad that I've been blessed with an amazing husband to share this roller coaster ride with :) For our anniversary we got some fun food and took the kids and had a picnic at the park, played on the playground, ran through sprinklers and played soccer. It was great fun. We are grateful for the two little blessings that have come into our lives over the years.
And today-Happy Mother's Day! I feel blessed to be a mother and I feel blessed to have such a wonderful mother and mother-in-law. I love them so much! Today is also my mom's birthday-so a doubly special day for her!
This morning Dal came and woke me up with a kiss and said "Happy Mother's Day Mom!" Then he asked if I would get him some breakfast and then he said "Wait. I can just go make myself a peanut butter sandwich. Since today is Mother's Day you get to relax all day and take a bath." I thought that was pretty sweet and cute.
After church Dal brought me a picture he drew for me for Mother's Day. He told me it was everyone from both sides of our extended family. Then Braelyn saw that Dal was giving me a present so she thought fast and ran into Dal's room, built a quick creation out of legos and came back and said "Here mommy. Happy Birthday!" It was so cute!
Here is a close-up of Dal's picture. If you are part of our extended family then you are on there somewhere--And amazingly enough he knows exactly where everyone is on there :)
More Mother's Day presents from my little sweeties...
For my Mother's Day dinner Jake made me delicious Chicken, Pork & Rice Green Chile Burritos Supreme (that's what I decided to call it :) with homemade tortillas! It was fabulous! Loved the side salad too. He is just an amazing cook and I really love food so we go so well together :) So glad I get to continually reap the benefits of his great talent!
A little backtrack to Easter...we had a great Easter. We read about the Resurrection in the kids picture scriptures, had a fun Easter egg hunt and the kids got new outfits (from Wal-mart clearance-$1 stuff -love that:)
