Summer Fun

We have had quite an eventful last few weeks. We first spent two weeks in Littleton enjoying time with my in-laws. While there Dalyn loved playing with so many cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. We also decided to enjoy some of the FREE fun places to visit such as a really cool fountain park and the Littleton Historical Museum which featured some animals and such.

(While in Littleton Dalyn had his first sleepover party with his cousins
Haley, Jonathan, Michael & Emily)

Our day at the really cool fountain park

The Park Next to the Museum
Dalyn wowed us with his rock climbing skills.
He climbed up this steep rock climbing wall all by himself!

After our Colorado adventure we rested at home for a couple of days and then headed to my Mom's family reunion in Kamas, UT (near Park City). Jake's sister Sara joined us and it was really fun to have here there. It was great to see so much family that we haven't seen for a while. Dalyn loved being around so many people and playing with the other little kids. We ate great food, played games and even had motorcycle races.
The Benedict Reunion

They had little carnival games for the kids

And a big blow up jumper thing

Here are my cute grandparents

Dalyn and cousins got to ride in the back of this four-wheeler mini truck type thing

This is how we lined up for the motor cycle race. The course was in a field and some big hay bales marked the path.

Some of the star racers included my sister-in-law Sara (it was her first time on a motorcycle and she did awesome. She even raced twice!)

My mom (she was a little speed demon and had everybody scared wondering what this "older" lady was doing going so fast :) She beat everyone by a mile in her group.

And Me! (I rode a tiny little 50 and I took it easy...I wasn't trying to win the race or anything but I did manage to pass two people in the race and ended up taking third place in my group)

My dad was also a star racer but I didn't have my camera when the guys were racing. He did awesome, even when he had to ride the little 50 motorbike.

Good times!

Nashville, TN

My brothers Conrad and Collin and families are living in Nashville, TN for the summer so my parents invited us to go on a little trip with them to see family and experience a new part of the country. It was a great trip...

We went on a really cool boat ride and watched an amazing Chinese acrobat show (Dalyn and Kylie actually sat through the whole thing)
Dalyn and his cousin Kylie had a lot of fun together

We also went on a bus tour of the city and got to see some of the neat sights of Nashville
We went to a fun aquarium restaurant
We visited the only exact replica of the parthenon
We celebrated Tiffany's birthday
And we had some time to just hang out and get some good family time

Baby #2 on the Way!!

We're so excited to announce that we are pregnant! I had a miscarriage about a year ago and ever since then we have wanted to be pregnant. I'm 12 weeks along and I'm due December 11th! This will be our second Christmas break baby! It seems that while Jake is in school Christmas break is when we are meant to have our babies:) It actually worked out really nice having Dalyn over Christmas break because Jake got to spend some time with us before school started again. This time (even though the baby might be born during finals) he will have a whole three weeks to enjoy our new little addition before he starts the craziness of school again.

For my first Dr's appointment we had an ultrasound and got to see the little one and hear it's heartbeat. So fun. We feel so blessed and are so happy!

Our Outing to Willow Park Zoo

The other day we went to Willow Park Zoo which is a big park in Logan that has a few fun playgrounds as well as a little zoo. The zoo has a lot of birds and ducks as well as some monkeys, turtles, deer, and even a bobcat.

When we first got there Dalyn found a cool stick that he was pretty interested in
Then he found a duck
A monkey
Some swansAnd an orange duck that we thought was pretty cool
The highlight of the day for Dalyn though was finding and picking dandelions

He thought those little yellow flowers were pretty cool

Provo & Family Fun

We recently spent a fun filled weekend we Provo (with a little jaunt up to Salt Lake).
My parents came down to Logan and then all of us headed to Provo. While in Provo we got to see Jake's sisters Sara, Gabby, Esther and Ryan. It was way fun to get to see them and hang out with them. Sara brought some bubbles over and Dalyn had so much fun blowing and chasing bubbles with all of them. Dal sure is lucky to have such fun aunts and uncles.

Another fun thing we got to do was head to Sandy and see my wonderful cousins Aimee and Juli and their little families. I just love them! From there we headed to Salt Lake and got to see the Fairbanks (a couple from Dillon) who are missionaries on temple square. It was fun to talk to them and hear about their mission. We then headed to a Utah Blaze arena football game. We had gotten four free tickets so for once we were actually able to take my parents to something fun:)
The game was kind of fun to watch. Dal wasn't overly interested but did make it through most of the game. The last quarter him and I spent riding up and down the escalators. I think his favorite part of the game was the half time show where some guys on bikes did some pretty awesome tricks on a big ramp. Dal was pretty enthralled by that.Jake, Sara, my dad and I went for a little hike in some of the Provo mountains and here are my dad and I overlooking Provo. Good times!
